Travel Photographer {Paris, France Day 5}

Day 5 was special.  Special because it was our little sunshine’s birthday.  It’s his ‘day’ and we promised to take him to Disneyland, Paris.  And that’s exactly what we did!  We rode the RER, Paris’ Metro, which he also enjoyed.  He loved the ride as much as he loves the ride on the Washington, DC Metro.

I think Paris Metro is the most convenient way to get to Disneyland from the center of Paris.  It took about an hour to get to the park.  The nice thing about it too is that the stop for Disney was only a couple of minutes walk to the the park entrance.

As expected with any theme parks, there were long lines on every ride and attraction.  We got to the park a little late, because we slept in due to the time difference.  Nonetheless, the birthday boy enjoyed every minute of his time in the park.  He drove a race car in Autopia, he rode a carousel with mommy, flew with Dumbo the Flying Elephant with daddy, took a boat ride in Pirates of the Caribbean, and met up with Mickey Mouse.  We also stayed for the night time spectacular show, Disney Dreams.  Liam fell asleep before the show started, so we had to wake him up to see it.  He didn’t mind, because he enjoyed the extravaganza of laser lights and fireworks.

We rode the metro again to head back to Champs-Elysées.  But, before heading back to the hotel, we wanted to find a place to eat ~ and get dessert (cake with a candle) for Liam.  It’s not official until the birthday boy gets to blow out the candle and eat his cake.

It was already late in the evening, as in past midnight Paris’ time, when we found Leon de Bruxelles.  They were already closing, but they were nice enough to let us in.  The waiter even searched for a candle for Liam as requested.  They were very accommodating and the food was pretty good.  I opted for a small dish (chicken and fries) since Lanie ordered the Leon special seafood platter which could feed a whole family.  The birthday boy shared food with daddy and had his chocolate cake after his meal.  He was given two balloons by our server and on our way back to the hotel, started a balloon fight with mommy in the streets of Paris.  It was waaay past his bedtime.  But, the day ended with a happy birthday boy!
