Day six was a relaxing one for us. We walked throughout the day, but we got to relax for a couple of hours during our boat cruise excursion along the river of Seine with Bateaux-Mouches. We took the cruise later in the afternoon, so we were able to experience the magnificent view of the city of Paris along the river Seine during the “golden hours.” The sun was setting during the second half of our excursion. So when the sun was hitting the monuments, it looked like they were made of gold. A beautiful scene, indeed!
Paris is one of the finest cities in the world for shopping. Before our boat excursion, Lanie was itching to go shopping. We went to one of her favorite stores. They served us gourmet cafe while she shopped until she dropped. After her shopping extravaganza, Lanie was craving for some soup, so we decided to try out one of the local Asian restaurants near our hotel. Not a fancy one, but it was a nice break from all the French food we’ve been eating.
For Dinner, we met up with a fellow American, Bill, who was staying in the same hotel. He took us to PDG, a local burger joint by Champs-Elysées. We would have not found this place if it wasn’t for Bill. This place was tucked in in one of many small alleys in the city, which we mostly avoided during the night. Dinner was a delight and Bill even treated. A treat, literally!
We all ended the night with happy tummies and blessed to have met a new friend!
