Liam was pretty excited to start our 7th day in Paris! He was told that we would ride the RER, Paris’ Metro again to visit Versailles. He was even more happier when we took the tram tour around the city of Versailles. This boy just loves riding trains.
The city is small. It was also quite that day, which we liked. It was a nice break from the fast-paced crowded and loud city of Paris. We enjoyed a leisurely walk around the town and stopped for a late lunch at le St. Claire.
It was already late in the afternoon and only less than couple hours left before Chateau de Versailles closed for the day. So, we decided to just stay outside the grounds of the palace after our lunch. Liam ran around loose and was able to play. We figured that there will be another time to see the palace. Perhaps during another visit to France.
As we were walking back to the RER station, there was a street performer of a Pharaoh statue along the way. I gave Liam some coins and asked him to drop them in the bucket for the Pharaoh. I wanted to see if he is afraid, which he wasn’t. But, as he drroped the coins, the Pharaoh bent slowly as a gesture of appreciation, and it startled Liam. Liam ran so fast back to us and said, “it moves!” with a startled expression on his face . Wish we had that on video. But, I felt so bad ~ a bad daddy I was!
