Travel Photographer {Paris, France Day 1}

Our flight from DC left in the afternoon and arrived in Paris in the morning.  The flight took just about 7 hours.   We hoped that Liam will sleep the entire duration of the flight and wake up in the morning when we arrive.  We were mistaken! The little boy was as excited as mom and dad.  When we arrived to Hotel Vernet, our room wasn’t ready yet, Liam was sleeping, and mom and dad were hungry.  We decided to have some coffee, tea and a basket of pastries at the hotel lounge while we waited for our room.  We then had our first taste of Paris ~ a 65+ euros bill! Yikes!  Liam was still sleeping when our room was ready.  Lanie decided to rest with him in our hotel room until he awoke.  I took the opportunity to take some pictures. I went across the street of our hotel to see the Arc de Triomphe.  When fatigue started to hit me, I decided to head back to the hotel and take some rest too. When the little boy woke up, we decided to walk around Avenue de Champs Elysées.  Our first stop? Ladurée!  I think my wife has been thinking about this place during our entire flight to Paris.  Our favorites are the salted caramel, pistachio, and mocha macaroons.  After our palates has been satisfied, we came across this unique crepe stand.  We couldn’t resist but to try some!  After making all of our tummies happy, we finally started our walk to see more sights.  We walked to the Grand Palais and saw the Petit Palais along the way, and let our little energizer let loose in between.  We hung out at the Pont Alexander III to experience the great view around us!  We headed back towards our hotel and decided to eat somewhere near.  We ended up at Chez Clément.  The place was packed and probably was the only restaurant that had a kids menu.  After dinner, we stopped by to our favorite drugstore, Publicis Drugstore, to pick up some wine and pastries.  This is no ordinary drugstore.  Not only did they sell bottled water, wine, pastries, and other gourmet food, but they also sold Bell and Ross watches!  They even have their own Steakhouse restaurant!  Ahhh…Paris.  I already miss you!

I’m waiting for day 2 😉 haha! Had I known they had Pierre Herme just around the corner from Hotel Vernet, I would’ve eaten their macarons. For reals!

I meant eaten them everyday instead of Laduree! No offense to L, ofcourse 😉
